Desert Shoot with Stephanie Monique Photography

This past May, I had the pleasure of traveling down to the Phoenix, Arizona area where I was down for a family wedding. Whenever I travel, I always love to see if there are other senior photographers in the area and love to reach out to see if they are up to meet up for coffee or a shoot! This is something that I have made a goal of in order to put a face to the person behind the social media profile!

I knew that Stephanie Coon of Stephanie Monique Photography was in the area and I was so excited when she was open to doing a quick shoot! To be honest, shooting in the desert has been part of my bucketlist for quite some time now. 🙂 I reached out to some friends that I had in the area to find a model for the shoot, Stephanie grabbed one of her girls and off we went! While it wasn’t the ideal shooting conditions and the light was harsh mid-day light, we made the most of it and it worked out fabulously!

After, we headed out to lunch with her husband, Aaron, met up with one of my photographer besties, Stephanie Newbold, and Michelle Perry. It was a fantastic way to combine two of my loves: photography & Mexican food!

If you’re a photographer, I highly encourage you to take the time to meet with other photographers that might be traveling to your area or reach out to photographers if you’re heading to their neck of the woods! It was so much fun and it has been a great way to make the senior photography community seem a little bit smaller! 🙂
