Carly’s Senior Photos in Vancouver, Washington, Lake Oswego and West Linn

Skyview High School Senior | Portland Oregon and Vancouver Washington Senior Photographer

There’s something special about the first senior session of a new graduating class, and Carly officially kicked off the Class of 2026 senior season. We started the afternoon at Sean’s Studio in Vancouver, Washington for hair and makeup before heading downtown and eventually making our way toward Lake Oswego and West Linn. We could not have asked for better weather, and the mix of urban locations, wildflowers, barns, and tall grass fields gave us so much variety from start to finish.

Our first stop was downtown Vancouver, where Carly wore a light green tank top with jeans. I loved the urban looks we created with this outfit. The city backgrounds gave us a clean, modern feel and were a great way to start the afternoon before moving into the more natural locations later in the session.

From downtown Vancouver, we headed toward the Lake Oswego and West Linn area for one of the things we really wanted to include in Carly’s senior pictures: flowers. We found a beautiful flower garden with wildflowers along with a red barn nearby. Carly changed into a striped top with jean shorts, and the combination worked so well with the flowers and rustic setting.

One thing that surprises a lot of seniors is that late June can actually be one of the best times to schedule senior portraits in Vancouver, Washington and Portland, Oregon if you want the best chance at wildflowers. This is when so many of the flowers are blooming, and Carly’s session was a perfect example. We had colorful flowers, green scenery, and long summer days with plenty of afternoon light to work with.

We stayed around the same flower garden and red barn area for Carly’s next outfit. She changed into a tank with a white skirt, which was perfect for this location. The lighter outfit looked so good surrounded by the flowers and gave this part of her gallery a completely different feel without having to travel to another spot.

As the afternoon moved closer to sunset, we headed out to the tall grass fields and one of my favorite white barn locations. Carly changed into a dress for this part of the session, and the combination of the barn, open field, and warm evening light made this such a pretty part of her senior gallery. I always love when we can pair a dressier outfit with a location that has plenty of natural texture around it.

For the final look, Carly changed into a white tank top, denim shorts, and flannel. We stayed around the fields as the sun continued to drop, giving us that warm golden light that makes the end of a summer senior session so good. Ending with a casual outfit was the perfect way to finish after photographing several different looks throughout the afternoon.

If you’re planning senior photos in Vancouver, Washington, Lake Oswego, West Linn, or the Portland area and you really want flowers in your photos, consider booking your session in late June. It gives you a great chance at wildflowers while also leaving plenty of daylight to fit urban locations, barns, fields, and multiple outfits into the same session.

Carly, thank you so much for trusting me with your senior photos and for being the first Class of 2026 senior session of the year. I loved spending the afternoon with you, from our urban photos in downtown Vancouver to the wildflowers, barns, and sunset out in the tall grass. Congratulations on your senior year at Skyview High School, and I can’t wait to see everything this next year brings!
