Ella’s Senior Photos in Vancouver and Ridgefield | Class of 2025
West Linn High School | Vancouver Washington and Ridgefield Washington Senior Photographer
Ella’s senior session came together at one of my favorite times of the year. Early fall always brings comfortable weather, beautiful evening light, and just enough color in the trees to make every location feel a little more special. We spent the afternoon exploring Vancouver before heading out to Ridgefield to finish the evening by the river and in the open fields. By the end of the session, we had so much variety that it almost felt like we had photographed in several different seasons.

We started the afternoon at Sean’s Studio in Vancouver, WA before heading to a neighborhood where the sidewalks were covered with bright red leaves. This location only looks like this for a short window each fall, so I always enjoy photographing here while the colors are at their best. Ella wore a white tie-front top with jeans, and the simple outfit let the fall scenery really stand out.

Next, we made our way to one of my favorite urban locations in Vancouver. Ella changed into a black top with a cream-colored skirt, and the rock wall surrounded by greenery gave us a completely different backdrop without having to travel very far. One thing I like about this location is that it has a clean, natural feel while still giving the session a little bit of an urban look.

After finishing in Vancouver, we headed toward Ridgefield for the second half of the evening. Ella changed into a blue floral dress, and we photographed along the rocky river. I always enjoy bringing seniors here because the water, smooth rocks, and surrounding trees create a peaceful setting that’s completely different from the city. It adds another layer of variety to the gallery and gives seniors a mix of both urban and natural portraits.

As the sun started dropping lower, we made our way into one of my favorite tall grass fields. Ella wore a red floral midi dress that photographed beautifully against the warm fall colors. The texture of the dress and the golden light worked so well together, and this part of the evening ended up producing some of my favorite images from the session.

Before wrapping up, Ella changed into a green button-up top with jeans for a few final portraits in the field. I always like ending sessions in open spaces like this because the last bit of sunlight creates such soft, flattering light. The tall grasses and warm evening glow were the perfect way to finish a session that had so many different looks from beginning to end.
One thing I always recommend to seniors is choosing locations that offer a mix of city and nature. It gives your gallery much more variety and makes each outfit feel like it belongs in its own setting. Ella’s session is a great example of how combining several locations can create a collection of images that all feel unique while still telling one story.

Ella, thank you for spending the afternoon with me and allowing me to photograph such an exciting milestone. It was so much fun creating these fall senior portraits throughout Vancouver and Ridgefield. Congratulations on your senior year at West Linn High School, and I hope this next chapter is filled with wonderful memories!
