Delylah’s Senior Photos in Vancouver

Sometimes the sessions that get rescheduled end up being the ones you remember most. Delylah’s senior session was originally postponed because of the weather, but the wait was completely worth it. We were treated to one of the most beautiful early September evenings with warm afternoon light that turned into a glowing sunset. The fall colors were just beginning to appear, and every location seemed to come together perfectly.

We started the afternoon at Sean’s Studio in Vancouver, WA before heading to our first location nearby. Delylah wore a pink sweater with a denim skirt as we photographed around a loading dock, which gave her senior pictures a fun urban feel. I always enjoy starting sessions in places that most people would overlook because they often create some of the most unique portraits. The clean concrete walls and industrial details paired beautifully with her outfit while still keeping all the attention on her.

For her next outfit, Delylah changed into a black Adidas top with matching sneakers that featured bright pink shoestrings. Those small details added so much personality and helped the outfit stand out without feeling overdone. We continued photographing around Vancouver’s modern streets and architectural backdrops, giving her gallery another completely different look while staying close to our original location.

As the evening light became softer, we headed to one of my favorite outdoor locations in Vancouver. Delylah changed into a flowing white dress for photos in a tall grass field with an orchard in the background. This is one of those locations that always feels peaceful, especially during late summer and early fall. The warm sunset light filtering through the grass created a timeless look that perfectly captured the season.

We finished the session in a beautiful flower garden where Delylah wore an all denim outfit. The colorful blooms added so much variety to her gallery after the urban locations and open fields we had visited earlier. I always recommend ending sessions in gardens during sunset because the soft light and natural color create such a beautiful finish to the evening.

One thing I love about photographing senior pictures in Vancouver, Washington is how many different looks we can create without traveling very far. Within a single session, we were able to capture urban architecture, industrial textures, open grassy fields, an orchard, and colorful flowers. Having that kind of variety gives seniors a gallery that feels complete and reflects different sides of their personality.

Looking back, it is hard to believe we almost photographed this session on a completely different day. Waiting for better weather gave us incredible light from beginning to end, and Delylah’s senior photos are proof that sometimes a little patience pays off.
