The
Logan’s senior session was such a great one to be a part of. Over the last couple of years, I’ve had the chance to work with both his brother and sister, so it was really fun to work with their family again. They are seriously one of the best families I’ve ever worked with.
One of the biggest challenges for this session was making sure that we gave Logan his own independent look while also keeping everything cohesive since we were creating wall art for their home. It was really important to make sure that all three kids’ portraits would look great together when they were hung up on the wall, while still letting each personality shine through. I love projects like this because it makes the planning and variety of the session that much more intentional.
We started out in the city where Logan wore a more business casual look — a blue button-up shirt with slacks. This gave a really clean, well-rounded look to his portraits and added a nice polished style to the gallery. If you’re looking for ideas for senior photos for guys, this kind of look is a great one to include.
Next, we found one of my favorite spots in the city for urban senior portraits and Logan changed into a grey sweatshirt and his beanie — which is something he loves to wear. I always encourage guys to bring at least one outfit that really feels like “them.” These photos had such a cool and relaxed vibe, and it was fun to mix that in with the more dressed-up shots from earlier.
After that, we did a denim jacket look which gave us a great in-between outfit that worked well for both the city and the more natural settings we moved to later in the day. Denim jackets are always an awesome choice for guy senior photos because they photograph so well and add some texture and style to the images.
Toward sunset, we headed to one of my favorite spots near a bridge where we were surrounded by trees and forest. This gave Logan’s session that natural and outdoorsy feel to balance out the city looks. The light coming through the trees was perfect and these shots really added to the variety of the gallery.
We wrapped up the session by the lake where Logan wore just a t-shirt and jeans for a super casual and laid-back look. These photos are always some of my favorites because they feel so real and timeless. If you’re planning senior photos for boys or casual guy senior portraits, this kind of simple outfit always works well.
Logan, thank you so much for such a great session. It was so fun getting to work with you and your family again and helping create something really special for your home. Wishing you the best senior year ahead!
