The
Every senior session has its own rhythm, and Danica’s was full of warmth from start to finish. We started the afternoon at Sean’s Studio in Vancouver, Washington before heading out to a few of my favorite spots around downtown Vancouver and Ridgefield. This session gave us a little bit of everything, cozy neighborhood sidewalks covered in fall leaves, clean urban backdrops, and golden fields at sunset.

Our first stop was a cute little neighborhood in downtown Vancouver, where the sidewalks were covered in beautiful fall leaves. Danica wore a white off the shoulder top with jeans, and the soft afternoon light coming through the trees made this the perfect place to start the session. There’s something about that first location that always sets the tone for the rest of the gallery, and this one did not disappoint.

From there we moved to a spot with a large glass window for a more urban feel. Danica changed into a light pink top with a patterned skirt and boots, and the reflections behind her gave this part of the session a completely different energy than the leafy sidewalks. Downtown Vancouver is great for that reason, you can go from cozy and warm to clean and modern in just a few blocks.

We stayed in that same urban area for another look, this time a floral long sleeve top with jeans, surrounded by fall colors on every side. The mix of warm autumn tones against the city textures made for some of my favorite images from this part of the day.
As the afternoon turned into evening, we made our way out to Ridgefield, Washington for the last two outfits. Ridgefield is one of my favorite places to shoot golden hour, especially out in the tall grasses. Danica’s next look was a floral dress, and with the golden light glowing behind her in the tall grasses, this ended up being one of the most beautiful parts of the entire session.

For the final outfit, Danica wore a knit patterned top with jeans, and we stayed out in the tall grasses as the sun dropped lower in the sky. The light during those last few minutes is always worth the wait, and it gave us the perfect way to end the day.

If you’re planning senior photos in Vancouver, Washington or Ridgefield, Washington, think about building your session around a few different kinds of scenery. Moving from downtown streets to open fields gives your gallery so much variety while still feeling connected from start to finish.
