Well, as 2018 comes to a close and we move in to a new year, I always like to reflect on the past year and all of the amazing people that I had the opportunity to meet and photograph their senior portraits for!

This year was truly one for the books. Between senior sessions, education, traveling for work and more, 2018 kept me on my toes, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! I was extremely fortunate to be able to photograph a ton of seniors and meet families I never would have had it not been for senior photography.

This year was huge for education. I am also so thankful to have been asked to speak at the 2018 PUSH Conference hosted by Senior Style Guide Magazine and asked to come back AGAIN for the 2019 PUSH Conference!! PUSH is truly a community unlike any other community in the photography industry. Between instructors that are willing to give their all and where there are no secrets to the attendees who make it all worth it by embracing new ideas and getting to see their businesses succeed with those ideas, it was one of the highlights of my year. PS: If you’re looking to attend PUSH next year, I highly recommend grabbing a seat!! Not only was I asked to speak at PUSH, but 2018 was also the year that I co-founded the Focus Workshop with my talented friends Stephanie Newbold and Thomas Nguyen. We kicked off our first workshop in San Diego, CA and really were able to soak up the sun with our attendees with amazing shoots, a tremendous venue, 2 full days of education with barely any sleep and friendships that will last forever. I can’t say thank you enough to all of the attendees that made this possible and my partners in crime! We cannot wait to head to Nashville, TN for next year’s Focus Workshop and to see who will be snagging the last couple of seats!

To top it off, I was also extremely honored to be named one of the Top 100 High School Senior Photographers by Senior Style Guide Magazine for the FOURTH year in a row!! Not only that, but I was also asked to judge the Modern Teen Style Top 25 competition and cannot wait for the winning images to be released!

During the spring of this year, I was also asked by True Muoa to help her with a film that she wanted to create. This brought me to none other than France! This was one of the highlights of my year as it allowed me to explore a new part of France, Angers, which I had never been to and other parts of Europe to work on my travel photography portfolio. I then worked with Tara Rochelle to create a kick ass brand film and have now launched into brand films for other photographers and cannot wait to work with creatives who are looking for that film that showcases the unique experiences that they offer to their clients.

Aside from teaching, this year also brought me to parts of the country like San Francisco, Chicago and Austin for destination shoots and mentorships. Thomas and I are excited to announce that we have partnered together to create a new brand of mentoring that we call our Master Consulting! This is a full day intensive where we come to you and show you how we would utilize what you already have to work with to make the most of your senior photography business. Not only do we cover the business side, we also cover the creative side and pull you out of your creative rut! We’re really excited to see where we will be headed in 2019!!
