The
Theo’s senior session was such a great one to shoot. A couple of years ago I had the chance to work with his sister, so it was really fun to work with their family again. They are absolutely amazing and it’s always an honor when families come back for another round of senior photos.
I love when I get the chance to work with guy seniors and create photos that feel natural and relaxed. So many guys (and parents of boys) worry that boy senior photos will feel too posed or too formal — but sessions like Theo’s show that they can be easy, fun, and full of personality.
We started off the session with a casual look — Theo wore a black button-up left open with a white t-shirt underneath. This simple combo always photographs really well and gave us an easygoing start to the day. I love starting senior photos for guys with something relaxed like this to help them get comfortable in front of the camera.
Next, he switched into his “Senior” shirt to mark this big milestone. These kinds of shots are always fun to include because it’s a great way to document this season of life. Boy senior photos like this help celebrate the journey through high school and make a great addition to any senior gallery.
After that, we headed into an urban environment where Theo wore his basketball jersey paired with jeans. I really loved this look because it was a more casual take on basketball senior photos — not the typical on-court shots but a cool, laid-back way to highlight something that’s such a big part of his life. Sports are often a huge part of the high school experience, and it’s always fun to incorporate them in a way that feels unique to each senior. If you’re looking for ideas for sports senior photos or basketball senior photos for guys, this is a great example of how to mix it up.
The city background gave us just the right amount of edge and variety for his session. Urban spots are always great for senior photos for boys who want something a little different from the typical field or nature backdrop.
Theo, thank you so much for an awesome session. It was so great to work with you and your family again and to capture this exciting season for you. Wishing you the best senior year ahead — on and off the court!
